Commenting in threads

Open

The room does not restrict who can comment, so answering a question in a thread is open to you.

From the room's own comment setting

Rules quoted from a public mirror's copy, captured 22 Jan 2025 and read by us on 15 Oct 2026. Rules can change after a copy is taken, so check the live rules page before you post.

What r/realtors's own rules say

Every line below is the room's own sentence, word for word, including its spelling. We pick the sentences about promotion, links and who may post; we never shorten one.

  • It is not acceptable to create any post, comment, or PM promoting a business, product, service, brokerage, or brand.
Rule: No Promotional Posts (SPAM), Recruitment, or Referral Seeking
  • No soliciting for referrals or recruiting.

  • Linking to a business in the comments is acceptable provided you are not self-promoting.

What it actually removes

r/realtors removed at least 100 posts for links or promotion in 7 days, counted from its own moderator bot's public comments over 7 days, read 10 Oct 2026. Through a public mirror, not the Reddit API.

  • at least 100Links or promotion, removed for carrying a link or reading as promotion.

The mirror returns at most 100 actions per read and this room filled the page, so every number above is a floor, not a rate.

This counts only what the room announces. A moderator removing something by hand leaves nothing to count, so a low number would prove nothing, which is why we only print this for rooms where it is high.

What to do instead

  1. Do not post about your product here. A removed post can cost the account, not just the post.
  2. Answer questions instead of announcing. Mention what you sell only when it answers the question, and say it is yours.
  3. Leave the link out of your first replies. Links are what this room's bot was counted removing.
  4. Read the live rules page before you post. The rules can change after the copy we quote was taken.

Does r/realtors have a self-promotion thread?
Its rules, as quoted on this page, name no thread for promotion. Answering questions in the room is the door that stays open.

How this page was made

The rules come from the arctic-shift public mirror's copy of the room's rules list, sidebar and posting guidelines. We do not use the Reddit API. The posting answer rests on the room's own words when they say anything about promotion, then on removals we counted, then on our inference, and the line under each answer says which. A rule that was rewritten after the mirror's copy was taken will not show here, which is why the capture date is printed above.
